New South Wales - The South

From pristine beaches to the awe-inspiring Australian outback, New South Wales is one of the most diverse place in Australia. New South Wales has endless unspoilt beaches, breathtaking natural treasures and one of the world’s most famous and vibrant cities. With a population of 6.7 million, it is the country's most populous state. As the core territory of the first British colony on the Australian continent, New South Wales is home to the country's oldest and largest city, the state capital of Sydney.
While much of the tourism is focused on Sydney and the coastal areas, the whole of New South Wales offers a multitude of experiences, with plenty of things to see and do which suit all tastes and interests, whether that be natural wonders, white sandy beaches to relax on, historical sites, or friendly country communities. From the busyness of Sydney, to the beaches and sleepy communities of the South Coast, to the rugged Snowy Mountains, to the wineries of Mudgee and the Hunter Valley, to the red outback and the rainforests of the North Coast and New England, wherever visitors spend time in New South Wales they are bound to enjoy themselves immensely.

The southern region of New South Wales is one of the most diverse of Australia. It features a very scenic coastline with many beaches, surfing spots and great areas for whale watching, as well as Alpine mountains which are perfectly set up for all kinds of summer outdoor activities and skiing and snowboarding in the winter. On top of that, the inland turns slowly into outback scenery and is home to several historical towns and areas.
